MGT 682 Business in China & Study Abroad China 2011

THE COURSE:

China, with its enormous population and expanding economy, represents staggering potential business opportunities for firms. Understanding the market as well as developing and implementing a successful business strategy for the Chinese market calls for an accurate, pragmatic understanding of the complexities of the Chinese business. This course follows a planned sequence of text book readings, journal articles, case studies, videos, and podcasts to develop a framework for understanding the Chinese business environment. As part of the course, groups of students will produce several market studies in key industrial sectors. These studies will evaluate the potential for business success in China. This course is the preparation for the trip to China.  The course is being offered Saturdays during Session II of the spring 2010 semester.
