Chris Aquino returns to Niagara University as an assistant professor of accounting after beginning his teaching career as an adjunct faculty member at Bellevue College in Bellevue, Washington from 2007 to 2009. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York, Chris attended local schools and then enrolled at Niagara University, graduating in 1985. He graduatedÂ with a BBA in Accounting and a B.S. in Information Sciences. He was also a member of the varsity tennis team, while an undergraduate student, playing #1 singles.
Upon graduation from NU, Chris accepted a position at Deloitte and Touche in Buffalo as an Auditor. Chris went on to become the controllerÂ at Waste Technology Services of Lewiston New York, where he worked for ten years. During this time, he returned to Niagara to obtain his MBA with a concentration in accounting. In 1994 he graduated as the top MBA student. In 1996, Chris accepted a position with Rotella Capital Management, a hedge fund headquarteredÂ in Bellevue Washington, and was named chief financial officer, as well as a member of the board of directors. He worked at Rotella until his retirement from private business in 2007.
His decision to attend the AACSB Bridge program fueled his desire to begin a second career in education and allowed him to follow his dream of teaching and returning to his alma mater to instill the same love of learning that has followed him throughout his life.
